My mission is to find a bar where they are showing the Eurovision contest and watch it for the first time in about 50 years.

    Protests in London against bars showing it. Some have been threatened with disruption if they show it because there is an Israeli participant.

    Can't for the life of me understand what Israel are doing in Eurovision in the first place. Which part of Europe are they in ? (Steve)

    I found a place that said they would be showing it but before it came on (9pm here) I had drunk too much so watched it on YouTube back on the boat.

Sunday February 2nd. Almerimar marina.

This is a much bigger place than I was expecting, big marina and huge holiday complex with loads of bars and restaurants and the ones that are open are busy even on a Sunday in February, probably they come from Adra. A lot of people living on their boats too judging by the amount of mail in the marina office. Almerimar is a tiny place on the map, I'm not even sure whether there is an old original pueblo.

Monday 10th February 2025. Still in Aguadulce marina.

My destination, Almeria marina, is not open to visiting boats so I have booked in here, Aguadulce, for another 19 nights. Almeria is only 15 minutes away on the bus and people tell me that this is a better place to keep a boat anyway. And I've met someone living on their boat here who used to be a member of the sailing club in Tollesbury. It is very sheltered here, a sun trap in a bay under a towering cliff, flat calm when the wind is howling out at sea. I wouldn't like to be here in the summer though, it must be like an oven.
