Thursday 9th May. Guadalquivir river.

Locked out of Seville at 22.00 last night and anchored. Heading down river with the tide this morning. A good time to leave as it's getting too hot at 30c, Seville is the frying pan of Spain but I highly recommend it.
I just saw a big bird take a fish from the river, I'm going to have a better go at identifying them this time and not just the storks.

Sunday February 2nd. Almerimar marina.

This is a much bigger place than I was expecting, big marina and huge holiday complex with loads of bars and restaurants and the ones that are open are busy even on a Sunday in February, probably they come from Adra. A lot of people living on their boats too judging by the amount of mail in the marina office. Almerimar is a tiny place on the map, I'm not even sure whether there is an old original pueblo.

Monday 10th February 2025. Still in Aguadulce marina.

My destination, Almeria marina, is not open to visiting boats so I have booked in here, Aguadulce, for another 19 nights. Almeria is only 15 minutes away on the bus and people tell me that this is a better place to keep a boat anyway. And I've met someone living on their boat here who used to be a member of the sailing club in Tollesbury. It is very sheltered here, a sun trap in a bay under a towering cliff, flat calm when the wind is howling out at sea. I wouldn't like to be here in the summer though, it must be like an oven.
