Bad weather yesterday so I brought Nomad into the inner harbour reserved for fishing boats and tied up next to one. Fortunately they don't work on Sundays so I had a sleep in.
This is a much bigger place than I was expecting, big marina and huge holiday complex with loads of bars and restaurants and the ones that are open are busy even on a Sunday in February, probably they come from Adra. A lot of people living on their boats too judging by the amount of mail in the marina office. Almerimar is a tiny place on the map, I'm not even sure whether there is an old original pueblo.
My destination, Almeria marina, is not open to visiting boats so I have booked in here, Aguadulce, for another 19 nights. Almeria is only 15 minutes away on the bus and people tell me that this is a better place to keep a boat anyway. And I've met someone living on their boat here who used to be a member of the sailing club in Tollesbury. It is very sheltered here, a sun trap in a bay under a towering cliff, flat calm when the wind is howling out at sea. I wouldn't like to be here in the summer though, it must be like an oven. View from the top over the sea of plastic. and down into the marina.
