Unfavorable winds for a few days so I've booked into the marina here for another week.
Virgin cruise ship in town. More pretty colours.

    The idea of a cruise is appealing. A new destination everyday without having to pack and unpack all the time. However, the design of the boats and being stuck in Belfast for 4 months puts me right off.

      I spoke to a man off of the cruise ship and that's exactly what he said, not the bit about Belfast. After touring around Europe on buses and trains it was a relief to dump the bags.

Friday 14th November. Cascais marina.

Forced into the marina in the early hours by the weather I have booked in here until Sunday. I really wanted to avoid this place because of scary stories about the prices they charge (the king has/had his boat here). But €25 a night is not too bad and they didn't charge me for last night/this morning, some would. I'm not sure that I would have been able to get further upriver against the wind anyway. It looks like I'm going to be here until Wednesday.
