Friday 31st January 2025. Adra marina.
Adra. There's not much to see here. The whole place looks like it's been built in the last 30 years and I've struggled to find a bar. The marinero tells me that they don't get tourists here, good and bad. He gave me a tour of the facilities and checked that the keys all worked, very friendly but I suppose I'm about his only customer, the marina is virtually empty.
Leaving Motril on the way to Adra, the lighthouse at Cabo Sacratif.
This is part of my journal describing our arrival at Adra in 2017 ... "The port of AdrĂ¡ was pretty useless: no one answered our radio call. We had to tie up at the “closed” petrol station. The mariner was giving a sailing class to some kids. We berthed at a rickety, bird-fouled pontoon. A middle-aged couple came to help us tie up as there was no mariner there. After lunch we moved the boat to a better berth. The water is dirty and full of plastic junk thrown out by the fishermen. Appalling conditions." I was not impressed, but the highlight was the visit from Maggie, Madeleine and Carmel.
ReplyDeleteIt's still bird fouled but the water is clean now and the marina answered my call on the radio. The facilities are clean. Its just all a bit dull. Looking forward to moving on to Almerimar tomorrow.
