Thursday 27th February 2025. Back in London for a few days.

End of this 2024 blog. New blog for 2025 here: nomad2025.blogspot.com

Monday 10th February 2025. Still in Aguadulce marina.

My destination, Almeria marina, is not open to visiting boats so I have booked in here, Aguadulce, for another 19 nights. Almeria is only 15 minutes away on the bus and people tell me that this is a better place to keep a boat anyway. And I've met someone living on their boat here who used to be a member of the sailing club in Tollesbury. It is very sheltered here, a sun trap in a bay under a towering cliff, flat calm when the wind is howling out at sea. I wouldn't like to be here in the summer though, it must be like an oven. View from the top over the sea of plastic. and down into the marina.

Thursday 6th February 2025 - Aguadulce marina.

Aguadulce. Seems nice. Booked in for 3 nights. Wind operated self steering windvane, something I picked up in Motril. 500 euros used, they're normally a few thousand new. I don't really need it because they are for crossing oceans but I've always been curious and I'm fed up with buying electronic ones at £600 each that are always needing repair at a couple of hundred pounds each time. I just have to figure out how to install and operate it without a manual and also if I've been sold a pup.

Wednesday 5th of February 2025. Anchored outside Roqueta de Mar marina.

Just a short distance along from Almerimar is Roquetas de Mar. The marina is closed to visitors for the year so I have anchored outside. Leaving Almerimar. Lighthouse, sea of plastic and mountains in the distance. Photo that I took while on a walk yesterday. You can see where the prevailing wind blows from. Halfway between Almerimar and Roquetas de Mar, this is where the sewage goes. I was thinking of going in the water to clean some weeds off of the underside but I came across some of this right outside Roquetas de Mar.
