Nomad 2024

Made a dash for Algeciras during a lull in the weather, only to find that there is not a soul here, its a locals only marina and its good Friday, office closed, weather bad so no one on their boats and I can't get through the security gates to go ashore and explore. It looks like I might be heading back to La Linea. I eventually decided to anchor. At least I got a change of scenery.

Due to move on today but the wind got up at midday and now I can't go anywhere. Still, at least the sun has come out again and the rain has washed the red dust away.

Well creepy!

Back in Spain. Ocean Village was very nice but this marina is less than half the price. £10 per night instead of £25. 

Walked to the top of the rock up the Mediterranean steps, very challenging. Nearly there. That's Sotogrande in the distance. Shame I forgot to bring my binoculars, lots of interesting bird life. I saw one of these: Barbary Partridge. St Michael's caves. The photo doesn't do justice. It was spectacular. My neighbour has been here in the marina for five months and is a great source of information. I am now fully aware of how cheap alcohol is in Gibraltar and how I can't possibly leave without filling my bilges. I don't drink the stuff but I might start.

O cean Village Marina. Gibraltar. Finest marina facilities in the med.  Casino, restaurants, bars, the facilities are like in a hotel, the toilets have showers and baths!
