Wednesday 21st August. St Jean de Luz.
Arrived St Jean at 2am Wednesday. Bad swell in the harbour so booked into the marina for 3 nights.
Sunday 24th March. La Linea. Holy week.

Forced into the marina in the early hours by the weather I have booked in here until Sunday. I really wanted to avoid this place because of scary stories about the prices they charge (the king has/had his boat here). But €25 a night is not too bad and they didn't charge me for last night/this morning, some would. I'm not sure that I would have been able to get further upriver against the wind anyway. It looks like I'm going to be here until Wednesday.
Tuesday 14th of May. Still in Ayamonte. Held here by strong winds.
Yesterday in Ayamonte, another celebration but I couldn't find out what it was of.
I heard on the national news this morning that a pod of 17 orcas is on its way northwards from the Straits and a warning to boats. The usual advice of turning off engines and letting the tiller loose has now been changed to ... head for the coast and hug its proximity. You probably already know this, right Brendan?
ReplyDeleteI didn't know about the 17 orcas but the rest I know. I'm feeling pretty safe tucked away in the corner here, although I know there are no guarantees.
