Friday 22nd November. The Algarve. Lagos marina.
The Algarve. What a difference a hundred miles makes, back in shorts and sunbathing. Anchored in Baleera last night.
Friday 14th November. Cascais marina.
Forced into the marina in the early hours by the weather I have booked in here until Sunday. I really wanted to avoid this place because of scary stories about the prices they charge (the king has/had his boat here). But €25 a night is not too bad and they didn't charge me for last night/this morning, some would. I'm not sure that I would have been able to get further upriver against the wind anyway. It looks like I'm going to be here until Wednesday.
Thursday 14th November. Anchored in Cascais.
Arrived Cascais this afternoon, I'll be here in Lisbon until Sunday at least when the winds will hopefully be more favourable. Above Cascais. The biggest, whitest, fluffiest cloud I have ever seen.
Sunday November 10th. Figuera do Foz.
Figuera do Foz. Halfway to the south coast. A sizeable tourist spot with Ferris wheel, big Irish pub and lots of beach. The best thing about Fig do Foz might be its closeness to Coimbra which i intend to visit tomorrow, after a visit to the Irish pub.
